《離愁與返鄉(六)The sorrow of being parted & returning home》

在「How We Disciple Others」課程中，牧會多年且令人尊敬的老牧師（八十餘歲，很老了），仍然孜孜不倦地教導。他屢次提到英國教會的光景，顯得十分憂心也語重心長，他讓同學們逐一發表看法，「English」，讓你的很有理由地選擇最後一位發言：

「Staying for one year in the UK, I found that the British have lost too much. And the churches have lost the passion for people, the attitudes towards taking the Word of God seriouslty, true miracles owing to the presence of God, determinations to pay the prices to win souls, and the power for evangelism and prayers.

在UK一年，我發現英國失去太多。教會，失去了對人的熱情、失去對神話語的認真看待、失去神真實同在的神蹟、失去付代價去贏得靈魂的決心、傳福音無力、禱告沒有火。」但是，一百四十八年前，蘇格蘭人差遣第一位宣教士到台灣，前仆後繼地建立了第一所教會、神學院、醫院、大學……。

同學問：「So, what's wrong with the British churches? What can we do now？那麼，到底英國教會怎麼了？我們現在可以做些甚麼呢？」

你不自量力地說：「First, sustain, do not give up praying. Second, have a positive attitude towards waiting upon God. Third, receive God's Will to do our parts, Then, move forward with bravery. 一、持續，不放棄的禱告。二、帶著正面的態度等候神。三、從神領受當作的事，勇敢向前。」

下課後，與同學Richard聊天才知道，沒想到，這位謙卑的長者，竟然也來自於蘇格蘭，哇，今天真是大不敬，然而，愧疚之餘，你就是愛「Scottish蘇格蘭人」。
